Obtained from certified European rapeseed oil, both of these chemicals are impressive by virtue of their high purity and wide range of applications. 1-decene is used in the lubricant industry for the production of PAO-based gear, engine, and industrial oils.

9-DAME

9-DAME

9-DAME is ideal for the production of polar PAOs and synthetic esters in high-performance lubricants.

Our products for lubricants

In 1-decene and 9‑DAME, Verbio life chemicals offers two high-functionality molecules for the production of lubricants that facilitate sustainable performance. Both of these raw materials are derived from European rapeseed oil and combine chemical precision with a traceable, plant-based origin.

Polyalphaolefins

Polyalphaolefins (PAOs) are among the most commonly used synthetic Group IV specialty base oils in high-end formulations such as high-performance motor oils, gear oils, hydraulic oils, and metalworking fluids. In 1-decene, Verbio life chemicals offers a plant-based drop-in product that is ideal for PAO production. Combining 1-decene with 9‑DAME as a copolymer allows the production of polar PAOs, which enable simpler and more cost-effective formulations.

Esters

9-DAME can be used to produce innovative polyol esters, which, similar to caprylic and capric acid esters, can be used in a wide variety of applications such as metalworking fluids, hydraulic oils, gear oils, additives for base oils, or transformer oils. 9-DAME can also serve as a starting point in this area for establishing new C10-based value chains that are independent of tropical oils and make product portfolios more robust against supply chain difficulties. MCT oils based on 9-DAME may create new properties in established applications in the future.
