Our products for the personal care and cosmetics sector
9-DAME, 1-decene, glycerin, and phytosterols have a wide range of applications in personal care and cosmetics. They can be used for the synthesis of moisturizing, skin-soothing active ingredients or functional building blocks for emollients, surfactants, viscosity regulators, humectants, and emulsifiers. Having been derived from renewable plant-based raw materials and thanks to their high purity and versatility, these Verbio life chemicals are ideal for modern personal care formulations designed to meet consumer demands for effectiveness and skin friendliness.
Polyalphaolefins (PAO)
In 1‑decene, Verbio life chemicals offers a plant-based feedstock molecule that is ideal for PAO production and thus represents a sustainable alternative to fossil hydrocarbons. Verbio's 1‑decene is a direct alternative to fossil-based 1‑decene as a feedstock for PAOs.
Surfactants
In body care formulations, selected bio-based ingredients contribute to enhanced cleansing performance. 1-decene and 9‑DAME serve as functional building blocks for the production of sustainable surfactants and/or co‑surfactants. This facilitates skin-friendliness, foam formation, and stability in modern cosmetic products. 1-decene serves as a precursor for bio-based surfactants, while 9‑DAME supports surfactant synthesis through bifunctional groups.
Thickeners
Glycerin is used in combination with polymers or cellulose derivatives as a structuring element in thickening systems of shampoos, creams, and household cleaners. Its hygroscopic properties support the stability of gels and emulsions. Glycerin improves the consistency and stability of formulations and is effective in both water-based and alcohol-based products.
Moisturizing care
Glycerin is one of the most effective hydrating ingredients in cosmetics and body care products. It binds water in the skin and improves its barrier function. In addition, phytosterols stabilize the lipid structure and support the regeneration of dry skin, while also having anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and soothing effects. Their high purity and sustainable origin make them a versatile ingredient for creams, lotions, cosmetics, and sunscreen products. 9‑DAME and 1‑decene can also contribute to skin care in the form of functional derivatives, for example, through their film-forming or softening properties.
